Michael Campopiano has recently joined the D’Amico∙ Burchfield team as an "of Counsel" attorney helping the firm handle a variety of legal matter. While at New York Law School Michael earned his certification in mediation and gained valuable experience settling a wide variety of cases in Rhode Island District and Family Courts via a state sanctioned mediation clinic.
Currently Michael is practicing law as a litigator with a wide array of practice areas all of which he has a zealous desire to practice in. In fact, Michael is always looking to take on new and atypical cases to challenge him and allow him to enthusiastically and efficiently represent a variety of different clients. Michael carefully selects each file he takes on to ensure that he can provide the highest possible service to his clients.
Michael is always accessible and speaks directly with his clients on a day to day basis. You always can count on receiving a call from him rather than a member of his staff. We feel that this ensures the closest possible relationship with our clients and ultimately fosters a personal relationship, which keeps clients coming back and referring friends to our office.
Michael is an industrious civil litigator with his primary concentration being personal injury, and criminal law. His personal injury practice includes, but not limited to, auto accidents, motorcycle accidents, tractor trailer accidents, slip and fall accident, construction accidents, and workers compensation. Specifically, Michael has a fervent interest in seeing that his clients get the maximum compensation possible in order to bring justice to his clients and ensure that client keep coming back and referring friends. He does this by constantly monitoring his files, staying in touch with his clients, insurance adjusters, and not settling his client's cases for low offers often made by insurance companies in the early stages of a claim.
Michael also is a regular in Rhode Island District and Superior Courts where he works closely with the Rhode Island Attorney General's Department to work out advantageous deals on behalf of criminal defendants. In Rhode Island District Court, Michael also handles landlord tenant matters representing both landlords and tenants.
In terms of domestic issues, Michael has experience working out child custody and divorce agreements in Rhode Island Family Courts that best meet the interests of his clients and their children. Michael strives to facilitate such agreements in as non-hostile and cost-effective manner as possible.
Lastly, Michael also has been active in real estate law since 2006 when he began clerking in a law firm specializing in real estate transactions and loan documentation. As a result, Michael can help assist his clients in the closing process from beginning to end and is able to offer competent legal advice to clients with complex title issues that often arise in Rhode Island's constantly shifting real estate market. Michael has also recently began helping clients who are behind on their mortgage, and face potential foreclosure, modify their loans so that they may stay in their home.
